Nevio Chodura is the new EU Youth Representative for the EU Youth Dialogue in Germany and, together with Eva-Marie Deckers, forms the new team of EU Youth Representatives. Together, they will be part of the German delegation at the digital EU Youth Conference from March 17 to 20, 2026, where they will represent the interests of young people in Germany.

At the conference in Cyprus, they will focus intensively on Youth Goal 1, “Bringing the EU closer to young people,” for the third time. For Nevio, one thing is clear: young people must be taken seriously and involved, especially when it comes to difficult decisions. When decisions are made over the heads of young people, mistrust arises. In politically tense times, constructive cooperation is all the more important. Trust must be built by implementing demands.

Nevio is 19 years old and studies law. He has been active in the DLRG-Youth and the JEF (Young European Federalists) for several years, and before that he was a student representative. In the DLRG-Youth, he supervises swimming training and other youth events, such as camping trips. He is also regularly active in the water rescue service. For the JEF, he helps organize educational work on Europe.
